A Louisville, Kentucky homeowner was having problems with cracks in the outside brick of her home built in the 1920s.  They were also having problems the porch starting to pull away from the home.  The homeowner met with Paul, a Certified Inspector, who recommended Helical PierSystem and SmartJackfloor support system is installed to resolve this problem for the homeowner.   Helical Pier System permanently stabilizes for home's foundation.  Steel piers are mechanically screwed into the ground until it reaches competent soil or bedrock.  A steel foundation bracket is connected to the helical pier and attached to your foundation's footing.  The weight of your home is transferred from the unstable soil to the Helical Pier.  This will protect your home from further settling and can potentially lift your home to the original position.  The SmartJack Floor Supports are installed by compacting a structural stone into place.  Then, a SmartJack is cut to size and installed under the floor.  An adjustable screw is used to raise the floor back to the original position and can be adjusted in the future if needed.   The homeowner was very pleased with the work that was done, the certified inspector, and the crew did a great job of installation and clean up.
