Photo Album: SmartJacks used to resolve crawl space problems in Lexington, KY

A Lexington homeowner who had previously had the crawl space encapsulated with CleanSpace Encapsulation System was noticing some problems with the joists in the crawl space.  She met with Roger, a Certified Inspector, who recommended the SmartJack Floor Support System, and a sister joist and sill plate replacement to resolve this problem for the homeowner.  A SmartJack is a high-capacity adjustable steel pier used to stop settling and raise your floor back up to where it originally was!  A structural stone footing is compacted in place, the steel pier is cut to size and installed under the area to be supported.  The adjustable screw can jack up the floor and can be adjusted in the future if needed.   The SmartJacks will now give the floors above the support they need.  The floors can be raised to a level position so that the floors will not be sagging or unlevel and the homeowner will have peace of mind that they have found a solution to the problem they had with the crawl space.
