Photo Album: Helical Piers are used to support a foundation is Waddy, KY
We installed Helical Piers for a homeowner in Waddy, Kentucky. This home was built in the 1960s, and the foundation needed some support. Helical Piers are installed by mechanically screwing a pier into the ground until it reaches competent soil. Once this achieved, a bracket is attached to the pier and the home's foundation footer. This will transfer the weight of the house from the unstable soil to the competent earth. This immediately supports the foundation. Depending on conditions, they may be able to lift the foundation. See a Certifed Inspector for more details.
