This basement in Frankfort, Kentucky wasn't having the best luck. It was constantly leaking and the moisture levels were out of control. The home was also experiencing some sagging-uneven floors on the first level of the home. We started by waterproofing the basement by excavating trenches in the floor around the perimeter of the basement. We then drilled weeping holes in the trenches and fitted the trenches with our WaterGuard subfloor drains. We then replaced their existing sump pump with our SuperSump sump pump. We then began to install 16 of our SmartJack posts to help provide some support to the sagging floor joists. To wrap it all up, we installed some new concrete back over all the trenches. Wet Basement

The high moisture levels in this basement had caused some of the floor joists to warp, causing sagging floors. The lally column wasn't doing much to help either.

Basement Jacks

Our SmartJacks are heavy duty and will provide immediate relief to the floor above. Their design refers to a "bulb of influence" physics approach. This design allows them to dissipate the weight of the home into stable soil, ensuring they won't sink.

Fitting Basement With Subfloor Drains

In this picture you can see the guts of our drainage system in the trenches along the walls of the basement. At the end of the project we installed concrete back over the trenches, making the drainage system concealed.

Completed Job

We finished new concrete over the top of the drainage system and the bottoms of the SmartJacks. This basement has now entered a new era of freshness and sturdiness.
