Heavy Rains Bring in Water and Mud in Park Hills, KY
Challenge
During the heavy rains experienced in Kentucky in 2018, a homeowner in Park Hills had mud and water that oozed into one corner of the basement. The basement had a block foundation and did not have a sump pump. The homeowner called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky for a solution to this problem.
Solution
An appointment was scheduled with Steve, one of our Certified Inspectors. He found that the water and mud were coming in through the walls in one corner of the basement. He recommended that WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System, A SuperSump Pump System with UltraSump Battery Back-up System, and BrightWall Paneling System be installed to prevent this from happening again.
The WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a perimeter piping system that intercepts the water unseen and drains it safely away through a sump pump system. The WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System will keep the basement dry and comfortable so that the homeowner could use it for storage or use it for extra living space!
The sump pump system he recommended is our SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System. The SuperSump System includes the most reliable pump available. It includes a WaterWatch Alarm System that sounds if the water reaches a level that the pump should have come on, alerting the homeowner to an issue with the sump pump. It also has a SuperLiner that won't cave in or crack. The Airtight Lid keeps moisture from reentering the basement, keeps things from falling into the pump hole and is strong enough to store things on top of it. The UltraSump is a battery backup system that gives added security. It would come on during power outages or problems with the primary pump.
BrightWall Paneling System is 4' x 8' sheets of plastic paneling that is permanently attached to the walls with drilled in fasteners. It is the most durable of our wall systems and looks great. BrightWall keeps water vapor from permeating your walls and drains any water leaks down into the WaterGuard system.
