A Hazard, Kentucky homeowner was having problems with water seeping into the basement at the floor. They met with Brice, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that WaterGuard and a TripleSafe Sump Pump are installed.
WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system installed along the foundation walls to intercept water that seeps into the basement. It is then drained out of the basement through a drainage system, such as a TripleSafe Sump.
The TripleSafe Sump pump includes 3 pumps. Pump 1 is a Zoeller M-53 1/3 hp pump that will do the majority of the pumping. Pump 2 is a Zoeller M-98 1/2 hp high volume pump and it will come on if pump one cannot keep up with the water or if there is a pump failure. When these pumps are working together they can pump a total of 6,200 gallons of water per hour out of the basement. Pump 3 is the UltraSump Battery Back up Pumping System. This pump will come on during times of power failure. It comes with its own battery and charging system. All three of these pumps fit nicely into the TripleSafe Liner. It also includes the WaterWatch Alarm that will sound if the water reaches the point the pumps should have started alerting the homeowner to a problem before damage occurs.
The photo shows the WaterGuard piping and the SuperLiner that will hold the pumps. The WaterGuard will be finished with a layer of gravel and a layer of cement. The pumps will be installed in the liner and the AirTight Lid placed and the system will be ready to work for the homeowner.
