Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Waterproofing and foundation repair in a newer home in Cox Creek, KY

A new homeowner in Cox Creek, Kentucky was having problems with the floors dipping and sagging.  The home has a crawl space with a dirt floor and there is no sump pump installed.   The homeowner had SmartJack Floor Supports installed to resolve the problem of the sagging floors.  The SmartJack Floor Supports are installed by setting a structural stone in place, then the SmartJack is cut to size and installed under the sagging floor.  The adjustable screw is used to raise the floor to the desired position and it can be adjusted again in the future if needed. Also installed was a SmartSump CrawlSpace Drainage System with an UltraSump Battery Back up System, CleanSpace Drainage Matting and RimTight Rim Joist Insulation.   The SmartSump is made especially for crawl spaces and has a special lid design.  If there would ever be water from a plumbing leak down in the crawl space, a special pocket on the lid fills with water sounding the WaterWatch Alarm.  This is a great feature to have since most homeowners do not go into the crawl space often and may not realize there is a plumbing leak.  Water from the plumbing leak will be drained into the drainage system.  The UltraSump is a battery back up pump that would automatically come on if there is a power outage or pump failure.  It runs on battery power and will sound an alarm alerting the homeowner to a problem with the system. The CleanSpace Drainage Matting has dimples in the liner that creates a channel for water to flow into the drainage system.   RimTight Rim Joist Insulation seals and insulates the rim joist.  The rim joist is the board above the foundation at the perimeter of the floor of the home.  If this area is not properly sealed unconditioned air leaks from outside causing cold areas in the winter and condensation in the summer.
