Leaking Basement Wall
At the corner of these two adjacent walls was where the basement was leaky. The first thing we do when installing our FlexiSpan system is to either dig a trench in the floor under the crack, or to connect the FlexiSpan to a sump pump system.
The First Layer of Polyurethane Sealant
After digging the trench, we then seal the crack with a high-viscosity polyurethane polymer. After that, we place a foam channel strip over the first layer of the sealant as a safety net for any water that still may come through, (although the first layer of polyurethane should capture upwards of 95% of total water volume).
Second Layer of Polyurethane Sealant
After installing the foam channel strip along the crack, we then apply a second layer of the polyurethane sealant. The foam channel strip hangs over the drainage system/trench at the bottom of the crack.
It's All in the Name - FlexiSpan
FlexiSpan. The whole system is able to bend, flex, and adapt to any slight shifts in your basement walls. Unlike other options, you won't have to reseal the crack every year! Your basement is good to finish!
Finishing the Repair and Restoring the Floor
Of course, we finish the system by covering the drainage system in the floor with some concrete, and then covering the cracks with some BrightWall wall panels.
