Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: CleanSpace Encapsulation done in Tyner, KY

A Tyner, Kentucky homeowner called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky interested in having the crawl space of the home encapsulated.  We installed a CleanSpace Encapsulation System including CleanSpace Vent Covers, SilberGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation, RimTight Rim Joist Insulation, a SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. CleanSpace Liner is a white plastic liner, similar to a pool liner that is attached with special fasteners to the walls and floor of the crawl space to provide a vapor-proof barrier. CleanSpace Vent Covers also provide an airtight seal and prevent debris from entering the crawl space.   SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation is expanded polystyrene insulation with graphite particles infused into it.  The graphite reflects heat back into the crawl space helping to create warmer floors and save the homeowner money on heating costs.  The RimTight Rim Joist insulation seals and insulates the rim joist, which is the board above the foundation at the perimeter of the floor.  If the rim joist is not properly insulated unconditioned air seeps into the crawl space causing cold crawlspaces in the winter and condensation and humidity in the summer.   The SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System is made especially for crawl spaces and includes the WaterWatch Alarm.  The WaterWatch Alarm will sound if there is a pump failure, power outage or plumbing leaking into the crawl space.  Water from a plumbing leak fills a special pocket on the lid sounding the alarm that will alert the homeowner to a problem in the crawl space. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier dries and filters the air.  Keeping the humidity at an appropriate level is important for maintaining a healthy environment in the home.  High humidity is not only uncomfortable, it encourages mold growth. With these systems installed, the homeowner will be able to rest assured that the crawl space is safe from water intrusion and the home will have a healthier, more comfortable environment.
