Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: CleanSpace Encapsulation System in Brooks, KY

A homeowner in Brooks, Kentucky called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky because he was interested in encapsulating and controlling the moisture in the crawl space.  The homeowner met with Billy, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that a SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System, CleanSpace, a SaniDry Sedona, SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation, and an EverLast door. The SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System is made especially for crawl spaces.  The lid of the SmartSump is designed to create a tight seal around the CleanSpace Liner.  The SmartSump also includes the WaterWatch Alarm and the Airtight Floor Drain.  The WaterWatch Alarm will sound if there is a pump or power failure.  The alarm will also sound if there is a plumbing problem that is leaking water into the crawl space.  If there would be a plumbing leak, the water would fill a special pocket on the lid that will sound the alarm.  The water would then flow down into the Airtight Floor Drain but will be unable to come back up into the crawl space.   CleanSpace is a bright white 20-mil-thick plastic liner, similar to a pool liner, that is attached to the floor and walls of the crawl space to provide a vapor-proof barrier between the ground and the home.  The bright white liner also makes it easier to see into the crawl space.  SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation is rigid insulation infused with graphite to reflect heat back into the crawl space.  This will keep the home and the floors warmer.   The SaniDry Sedona is a dehumidifier that will dry and filter the air.  Too much humidity in the home encourages mold and musty odors in the crawl space which can make its way up into the living space of the home. The EverLast Door provides easy access into the crawl space.   All of these products working together will help the homeowner to have a drier, healthier home.
