Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: CleanSpace Encapsulation System installed in Lawrenceburg, KY
The owner of a one-year-old home in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky was having problems with water getting into the crawl space and called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky for a solution to this problem. The homeowner met with Billy, a certified inspector, who recommended that a SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System, CleanSpace, a SaniDry Sedona, and an EverLast door is installed to resolve the problems the homeowner was having.
Ths SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System is used to pump water out of the crawl space. The SmartSump includes the WaterWatch Alarm that will sound an alarm if there is a power or pump failure. The alarm will also sound if there is water leaking into the crawl space due to a plumbing leak. The water will fill a special pocket on the lid and trigger the alarm to alert the homeowner to a problem in the crawl space. This water will then flow into the airtight floor drain to be pumped out of the crawl space.
CleanSpace Encapsulation System provides a moisture barrier between the ground and the home. CleanSpace is a 20-mil-thick plastic liner, similar to a pool liner, that is attached to the walls and floor of the crawl space. The piers are also wrapped in CleanSpace. The bright white color brightens up the crawl space and makes it easier to see into and access.
The SaniDry Sedona dries and filters the air. Mold spores, dust particles, and dust mite droppings are filtered out and the excess humidity is removed from the air. Too much humidity makes the home uncomfortable and also encourages mold growth.

This is what the crawl space looked like before the CleanSpace was installed. The insulation has fallen down in places.

The SmartSump and SaniDry Sedona
The SaniDry Sedona and the SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System have been installed. The SaniDry can be drained right into the SmartSump lid so there are no buckets to empty.
