Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: CleanSpace Encapsulation System installed in Richmond, KY

A Richmond, Kentucky homeowner was noticing the insulation was falling down in the crawl space, and they were concerned that it may cause mold and mildew.  The homeowner called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky and met with Abel, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that a SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System, IceGuard, SmartPipe, CleanSpace Liner with CleanSpace Drainage Matting, CleanSpace Vent Covers, SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation, and a SaniDry Sedona is installed to resolve the problems in the crawl space. The SmartSump Crawl Space Drainage System is used to pump water out of the crawl space.  It includes the WaterWatch Alarm that will sound if there is a pump or power failure to alert the homeowner to a problem with the system.  The Airtight Lid of the SmartSump is designed to fit tight against the CleanSpace Liner to form a tight seal.  The Airtight FloorDrain on the lid will allow water from a plumbing leak to flow into the Airtight Floor Drain but it cannot come back up into the crawl space. The CleanSpace Drainage Matting is installed on the floor of the crawl space to provide a channel for the water to flow out of the crawl space.  The CleanSpace Liner is installed on top of the drainage matting to provide a vapor-proof barrier between the ground and the crawl space.  The CleanSpace Vent Covers are used to cover up the existing vents to help create an airtight seal and keep debris from getting into the crawl space. SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation is expanded polystyrene insulation that is infused with graphite to reflect heat back into the crawl space.  This will help to keep the floors warmer in the winter an reduce heating costs.  The SaniDry Sedona filters and dries the air.  Too much humidity in the crawl space causes musty odors, insects and encourages mold growth.  The special filters on the SaniDry filter mold spores, dust mite droppings and other particles from the air.  The crawl space is a part of the home, so it is important to have a healthy crawl space environment to maintain a healthy living space of the home.  In other words, whatever is in the crawl space is in the living space.
