Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: CleanSpace Encapsulation System and main beam replacement in Sandy Hook, KY

A homeowner of a 20-year-old home in Sandy Hook, Kentucky was having problems with some of the wood beams rotting in the crawl space.  The crawl space had a dirt floor, the foundation is block and a sump pump has not been installed.  The homeowner met with Abel, a Certified Inspector, who recommended that Clean Space Encapsulation System with CleanSpace Drainage Matting, CleanSpace Vent Covers, we replaced the main beam and installed a SaniDry Sedona.  The CleanSpace Drainage Matting is installed on the floor of the crawl space.  This provides a channel for the water to flow out of the crawl space.  The CleanSpace Liner is a bright-white plastic liner that is attached to the floor and walls of the crawl space.  This provides a vapor-proof barrier between the ground and home.  The Clean Space Vent Covers also help to provide an airtight seal and keep debris from entering the crawl space. The SaniDry Sedona is used to dry and filter the air.  Too much humidity in the crawl space can cause wood rot, musty odors and encourage mold growth.  The special filters on the SaniDry filter out mold spores, dust mite droppings, and other particles that are in the air.  The crawl space is a part of the home so whatever is in the crawl space is in the living space.  By having the SaniDry Sedona installed, the humidity will be kept to an appropriate level helping to prevent mold, wood rot and making the air healthier.
