A home built in the 1990s with a block foundation was experiencing water seeping into the basement through cracks in the basement walls. The homeowner called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky and met with Matt, a Certified Inspector, to find a solution to this problem.
Matt recommended that the homeowner have WaterGuard, a TrenchDrain, a SuperSump with UltraSump battery back up pump, and PowerBrace System installed to resolve these problems in the basement.
WaterGuard Basement Waterproofing System is a patented sub-floor piping system used to intercept water that is seeping into the basement. The water is drained into a pump system to be pumped out of the basement. The TrenchDrain is a piping system with a grated top to allow water to flow in from the top. The TrenchDrain is usually installed across doorways.
The SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System can pump up to 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of the basement. The SuperSump also includes the WaterWatch Alarm, the SuperLiner, and a special Airtight Lid. The UltraSump Battery Back-up System will automatically turn on during a pump or power failure to pump water out of the basement. The UltraSump comes with its own battery pack and charging station.
The PowerBrace System is steel I-beams that are secured tightly against the foundation wall with brackets that are attached to the floor and floor joists. The PowerBrace is used to permanently stabilize the foundation and has an adjustable bracket that can be tightened over time to potentially reverse the wall failure.
