Photo Album: Helical Piers used to resolve cracks in the brick and cracks in the drywall in Somerset, KY

A Somerset, Kentucky homeowner noticed that there were cracks in the brick of the home and also the drywall inside was starting to crack.  The homeowner called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky for a solution to his problem.  Albert recommended that Helical Pier System is installed to stabilize the foundation.  A Helical pier is a steel pier that is mechanically screwed into the ground until it reaches competent soil or bedrock.  A bracket is attached to the pier and then to the home's foundation footer.  This transfers the weight of the home from the incompetent soil to the competent soil and stabilizes the foundation.
