Photo Album: Foundation Underpinning Company in Lexington, Kentucky
The foundation of this building was becoming unstable due to problematic soil. We permanently stabilized the foundation by installing nine helical piers beneath the footing. Piers are screw shaped rods that are able to reach deep depths when drilled down. The load-bearing soil found in these deep depths is what we attach your home to, ensuring no further movement for the lifetime of the structure. We also configured their discharge line while we were out there.
Helical Piers Support Foundation
Helical Piers transfer the weight of the building from incompetent soils to stronger, load-bearing soils deeper in the earth.
Discharge Line Installed Outside
This discharge line will carry any water collected by the waterproofing system and distribute it back outside.
Discharge Line Extends Underneath Sidewalk
This discharge line extends below the concrete sidewalk and further into the yard.
Backfilled Piers
Both the helical piers and the discharge line are both now out of sight.
