A two-story log home in Whitely City, Kentucky needed it's 4 foot crawlspace encapsulated.
The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky sent their inspectors out to evaluate the job. Their recommendation was agreed upon by the home owner and they installed a CleanSpace encapsulation system. The bottom piers of the crawlspace were wrapped and vent covers were placed over the vents and an EverLast Door was installed. The team installed SilverGlo Crawl Space Wall Insulation System that gave the homeowners' a dry, energy-efficient crawl space.
The owners of this home had just bought it when they came in contact with us. Our first visit was a year ago, and we already had the proposal laid out for them. We knew that the once potential home owners wanted to be able to finish their basement, and they couldn't do that if not waterproofed correctly. Once the homeowners decided to buy the house recently, they immediately contacted us to get them on the list. We waterproofed the basement by doing a full interior perimeter drainage system. We installed WaterGuard under the floor drains, a SuperSump Plus sump pump with a battery backup system, and a discharge line. The owners now feel safe enough to finish the basement for their liking.
Recently, a homeowner in Strunk, Kentucky reached out to us at The Basement Doctor with concerns about the air quality in their home. They were troubled by stuffiness and odors emanating from the crawl space - a problem that affected the overall comfort and health of their living environment. Our mission was clear: improve their home's air quality and provide a solution that both lasts and protects. Following our established process, the first step involved a visit from our System Design Specialist. Upon inspection, it was evident that the crawl space was in dire need of an overhaul to address the root of the air quality issues. Our specialist recommended a combination of our CleanSpace liner, SilverGlow insulation, and a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to encapsulate and condition the space effectively. Our production team went to work, starting with the CleanSpace vapor barrier - a tough, durable liner designed to lock out dampness and pests while keeping the crawl space clean. Next, SilverGlow insulation was installed, skirted around the crawl space walls to maintain an energy-efficient barrier that prevents heat loss. Lastly, the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, the final piece of the puzzle, was put in to reduce humidity levels, transforming a musty crawl space into a dry, healthier environment below the home. The outcome was remarkable. Not only was the air quality in their home significantly improved, making the living spaces more comfortable, but the homeowners also gained peace of mind knowing their crawl space was properly protected against future issues. At The Basement Doctor, witnessing the transformation of our customer’s homes and enhancing their lives is what makes our job so fulfilling. This project in Strunk, KY, stands as a testament to our goal to deliver exceptional service.
