This home in Versailles, Kentucky had a cinder block support system in their crawl space that was becoming compromised. We replaced this system with a new SmartJack system. The SmartJack is a high-capacity adjustable steel pier designed to stop settling and even potentially raise the floor back to where it was.

One of the bigger projects in recent history, this home was due for a crawl space makeover. 1,335 square feet of Clean Space was installed along the floors to put it into perspective. On top of that, the home needed 4 rows of Smart Jacks installed to help with the foundation settling. We also installed a SaniDry Sedona, a Smart Pump, Perforated Pipes, Supplemental beams, SilverGlo, an UltraSump, and Joist Assist Brackets. All in all, this project will be paid for itself in terms of saving the crawl space, energy savings, and health savings. The customer was very happy.

This crawlspace was in pretty poor condition. Moisture was seeping in and causing mold to grow in a lot of places. In order to stop moisture, cold air, and bugs from coming into the crawl space from any longer, we encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace liner. We also installed a SmartSump sump pump connected to a drainage system to help waterproof. We also connected a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to the sump because the SaniDry is capable of collecting gallons of water just through the moisture in the air.

Dan M. noticed cupping in his 5 year old hardwood flooring installed in his home. He contacted the flooring company who determined the cupping was caused by too much moisture in the crawlspace. He then called The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky for help with this issue.
The crawlspace had plastic sheeting installed as a vapor barrier. Our inspector recommended that they encapsulate the crawlspace with CleanSpace. CleanSpace is a 20 mil plastic that is installed on the floors and walls to create a barrier between the ground and the inside of the crawlspace.
