This storm shelter was a 10 foot by 10 foot square, where you had to enter through a trap door. The problem the customer was experiencing with the storm shelter was it was growing mold, and it was at risk for flooding. We fixed these problems by installing WaterGuard drainage all under the perimeter of the interior of the shelter, connecting to a Super Sump sump pump, and CleanSpace matting all over the walls.

Crawl spaces can provide useful storage space or even necessary access to a home's wiring or ductwork. Unfortunately, in [city_page:state], most crawl spaces have dirt floors that are prone to moisture problems and fluctuating temperatures. This can contribute to mold and moisture issues, including wood rot, which can lead to compromised structural integrity.
The Basement Doctor of Central Kentucky offers complete crawl space repair and preservation services, including crawl space encapsulation, crawl space waterproofing, and crawl space insulation. We install effective, proven durable dehumidifiers, air purifiers, vapor barriers, and crawl space jacks to improve structural stability. Improving the supports in your crawl space can also lift or prevent sagging floors in your home above the crawl space.

We went to a customers house and their crawl space was in decent shape, but they wanted to get some work installed to serve as a preventative measure for the future. We installed SmartJack posts under the main beams to help support the floor of the house and to stop the floor from sinking in the future. We also laid down Clean Space liner all across the bottom of the floor to prevent moisture from leaking into the crawl space and causing mold to grow. The preventative measures this customer took will surely pau for themselves in the long run by saving the customer money on future repairs, as well as their health from possible moisture issues.
Something else to add to this story was the reasoning behind why the customer wanted to get this work done. They told us they owned a house before the current one we were at. The old house unfortunately had a crawl space disaster when the floor collapsed. Luckily, no one was injured, but the cost to repair was devastating. The problem had gotten so bad without them even knowing, because they did not even think to check out their crawl space in a long time.
The side of this home was sinking into the ground, causing some pretty bad vertical cracks. To stop the side of the house from sinking any further into the ground, we attached piers to the footers and extended the piers deep into the soil, where the soil is most compact. We even raised the footers back to where they were by using hydraulics for the push piers. The homeowner was very pleased with the services.
