This old sump pump was hurting this customers basement because it was not working properly. After looking into the drains the old sump pump was hooked up to with a camera, we saw that parts of the pipers were clogged. Even if the drains weren't the problem, the sump pump was also old and not working right. We installed our system after ripping out the old one by installing WaterGuard interior perimeter drains all along the floor of the basement. We then hooked up our new drains to our new sump pump, the TripleSafe.
The renovators for this newly purchased home knew that the epoxy sealant applied to the foundation walls was not going to help this basement stay dry. You see, epoxy sealants and other sealants of the same nature don't fix the root cause of basement leaking issues. The real problem is all the water pressure sitting on the outside of the foundation walls, and the best way to relieve that pressure is an interior perimeter waterproofing system. We installed our system equipped with subfloor drains, a sump pump, and a vapor barrier. This system invites the built up water through weeping holes near the bottom of the foundation, (as seen in the before photo) and discharges all the water far away from the base of the home. After the system was installed, the renovators were ready to finish the basement however they like.
This drenched crawl space looked like a rainforest before we came and encapsulated it. We first waterproofed the crawl space, then we installed a vapor barrier, then we sealed the crawl space vents, then we set up a dehumidification system. These four steps will ensure a dry crawl space for a long time.
We did a CleanSpace encapsulation job in Harrodsburg, Kentucky because the homeowner wanted to stop mold growth. Of course, we also put in a SmartPump and SaniDry as well.
This crawlspace had some big rocks in it, but fear not, The Basement Doctor can navigate. CleanSpace matting is flexible enough for any obstruction, and will still block out all negativity.
