The owners of this home knew there crawl space needed an encapsulation so they called us. on top of sealing the crawl space we also installed a dehumidifier, waterproofed, and replaced insulation.
Upon inspecting this crawl space, we noticed many pests, whether dead or alive. We also noticed high moisture levels, which is related to the pest problem. The customer decided it would be best to fix these problems by encapsulating. We encapsulated by waterproofing, insulating, dehumidifying, and installing our white CleanSpace liner shown in the picture.
In order to control the high humidity levels for this crawl space in Wilmore, KY, we installed a large vapor barrier all across the dirt floor and all across the walls. You see, when we install our CleanSpace liner, we make sure to seal it off with tape everywhere in the crawl space, even the concrete piers. This way, there is effectively no way moisture can seep up through the crawl space. We also added a dehumidification system to ensure moisture would not be present in the crawl space any longer. This home in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky had a crawlspace that was growing mold because moisture was finding its way in. It was evident that the house should be properly insulated and waterproofed in order to stop moisture from ruining the fun. The first step was to clean the mold from the walls and ceiling by using Anabec cleaner. We then sprayed foam insulation in the ceiling and walls after the mold was cleaned. We then installed a Smart Sump, which will pump water that the Drainage Matting collects. We then placed down Silverglo on the walls and CleanSpace over the Drainage Matting. The Silverglo is a great insulator and prevents mold. The CleanSpace helps seperate the crawlspace from the earth completely. Next, we hooked up a discharge line that leads the pumped out water away from the home. Lastly, we covered the vent covers and placed a SaniDry to help wick away moisture for good. The home now saves money on energy, has a healthy foundation, does not contain mold, and is waterproofed. (Side note: Cleanspace encapuslation not pictured, it was installed over the drainage matting after the picture was taken.
