Before entering our care, this Jeffersonville, KY, home endured musty odors seeping from its crawl space, compromising both air quality and peace of mind. As vivid in the photos, we revolutionized this space by installing our CleanSpace liner to seal out moisture and our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to maintain crisp, dry air. Now, the crawl space not only looks immaculate but also secures the home above from unwanted smells and contributes to a healthier living environment.
This crawl space's main beams were in need of some support because the floor above had a lot of weight pressing down and causing wear and tear on the beams. We supported the beams by installing SmartJacks in the crawl space, connected to the main beams.
This crawl space was using rocks and cinder blocks to hold up their main beams. We added our SmartJack posts to help strengthen the structure of the crawl space.
Wetness in this crawl space was causing the pipes and ducts to rust, the wooden parts to grow mold, and the insulation to become ineffective. We installed a waterproof system with a SmartSump sump connected to perforated pipes placed in trenches around the perimeter floor. We also connected a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to the pump to allow discharge the water the dehumidifier collects. We then installed CleanSpace liner all across the floors and walls, making sure to wrap around the concrete piers as well. We then installed SilverGlo insulation panels along the walls. We then tore out all the fiberglass hanging from the ceiling, as it is no longer helping insulate with our panels doing all the work.
This newer home had a crawl space that was pretty clean for not being encapsulated. The owners decided to keep the crawlspace nice and healthy by just encapsulating it with CleanSpace matting. This way, the wooden floor joists don't rot from slight humidity, and they can keep critters and insects out.
